Before anyone at Lancaster Speedway ever heard the name Jason Starnes, he had already turned more laps than most of his heroes at the track. Of course, this was all in his and his brothers minds as they raced every day in the junk cars out back, dreaming of one day competing at the famed high banks. As he got older, he, his dad and his brother all helped work on Kenny Polston's cars, and he waited for the day when he would begin his driving career.

In 2004 Jason would finally begin to follow that childhood dream by competing in 9 races that season. When the thought of number came up, his dad, the car owner, said there was only one number to run, the 4. Even though Jason said he would prefer the 29, it would be four. After all, he was the fourth in the family, his dads work truck was number 4, his hero was Kenny Polston, (who made the 4 famous at Lancaster) ,his birthday was the fourth, it was '04 when he started, and the reasons continued. So that became his number, and he raced a handful of events to get seat time and learn.

'05 was his first full season. It would be a season of ups and downs as it is for most racers. Jason used his time to learn more about driving, the car, and the competition. He raced at other tracks such as Chester, to learn more about set ups. He listened to anyone who he thought he could learn from, and paid his dues. Towards the end of the season, that hard work was starting to pay off with better and better runs, culminating in his first win in August.

07 has been his breakout year though by far. Gone is the familiar blue and white and in its place is the bright red 4, looking very much like the ones he started out playing in as a kid. Jason has become a more relaxed, and confident driver as well, and the results are obvious. Jason has picked a handful of wins this year, and more a likely with this team becoming a contender each and every week now.

Jason would like to send a very special thanks to the following people that have helped him over the years.-
